The Code of Conduct tribunal recently quashed the entire
3-count criminal charge that was preferred against the erstwhile Governor of
Lagos State, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I guess it’s a victory for democracy.
He was charged for operating foreign accounts while serving as governor which
is in violation of section 7 of the Code of Conduct Bureau and tribunal Act.
Though the charges were quashed because it was legally
defective the Governor who has so much regard for rule of law and morality
doesn’t deem it fit to tell the people if truly he operated those accounts.
Some South-West ACN governors were around to give him moral support. Rather I
call it show of shame.
In as much as the Prosecuting Lawyers did not do their
homework right the judgement never said the self-acclaimed leader was innocent
of those crimes. Once again, I say it is victory for democracy. So, all
Ashiwaju supporters, ‘jeun soke.’
