Losing our moral values (watch the ABSU rape video here)

It’s so sad reading about the ABSU rape video, where five men gang-raped a girl. The publicity and attention that condemns the dastardly act is commendable. In a long while, Nigerians have stood up unanimously to condemn something bad. How could a reasonable man decide to rape a girl just to pay her back for an offence? I am sure these guys did this not for pleasure but to hurt the girl. Till date I haven’t seen the video and I don’t think I will ever will.
I don’t understand why anyone will sit to watch a video of rape for more than an hour. A lot of people must have done this, some to help in the investigation while others just for the fun of it. For anyone to have watched this not for the purpose of helping in the identifying or investigation shows such person is in support of such act. In fact such a person can also partake in such.
If some of us would try to step out of our life of isolation and decide to interact fully with the normal people in the streets we will discover that so many atrocities does happen and no one is doing anything about it. Ladies are raped and molested, children are raped, people are murdered and it doesn’t get this publicity.
For those who have watched this video just for the fun of it, you are as guilty as those five guys who raped that girl. God help us all for we are all guilty of supporting so many immoralities consciously or unconsciously in our society.
