Self-immolation (a better way for Boko Haram and MEND to pass their message to the government)

Many groups of people who feel they have been marginalized or treated unfairly by government can go to any extent to correct the injustice. When I read about what these monks do to themselves I was shocked. Read the third paragraph below.

The Boko Haram sects are so vicious that they can blow up everyone just to get a sharia state. The Movement for the Emancipation of Niger-Delta will kidnap even an albino just to get ransom. There are many other groups with different methods but unfortunately have been quashed by government.

Buddhist Monks in a Tibetan part of China set themselves ablaze to protest lack of freedom of expression and worship. The monks believe the Chinese authority is suppressing the Tibetan culture. How I wish Boko Haram will use this method to attract governments attention rather than killing innocent people. And I can assure (pronounced a-ssu-a) you, our government will pay more attention to their plight.

Palestine Statehood (How will Nigeria vote?)

“As a non-permanent member of the 15-nation body United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Nigeria will cast a vote on Palestinians’ bid to have a nation of their own. This vote may be the decisive vote that will free Palestine from humiliation, oppression, pain and death. Although the Obama Administration has promised a rogue veto once the voting is in favor of Palestine, US and Israel have been putting enormous lobbying resources and crude pressure on the members of the UNSC, including Nigeria, to prevent the need and shame of using the veto. At this crucial time, the Nigerian government, media and people must do the right thing; we must remember the glorious role we played in supporting the victims of the racist policy of apartheid in South Africa, examine our conscience and do the right thing again. There is no reason for us to behave differently now because the policy that Israel pursues in the occupied territories is similar to that of Apartheid. President Goodluck Jonathan must consider very seriously the choices that Nigeria has to make: support the oppressed in throwing off the yoke of oppression or turn her face away from oppression. If Nigeria opposed apartheid in the 80s, why should she tolerate it 20 years later? Nigeria already recognizes the Palestinian nation and voting against its legalization at the UN will be a direct contradiction to our foreign policy objectives in relation to the conflict. As it did during the dark era of Apartheid, Nigeria must now show its true friendship towards the oppressed and not succumb to the tremendous pressure that the US will put on the administration to vote against the bid or abstain. Nothing will benefit Nigeria by abstaining or voting against freedom for the oppressed. It is clear to the whole world that US is a partner-in- crime to Israel. Such a blatantly biased party cannot claim to be a peace broker and convener of any credible negotiation that the Palestinians should commit their future to. The Jerusalem Post ( 20/09/11 ) reports that “Ehud Barak has convinced Nigeria to not support the Palestinian statehood bid, statement from the Defense Ministry reported on Tuesday. As part of the lobbyi ng efforts, Defense Minister Ehud Barak met in New York Tuesday with President Goodluck Jonathan. The meeting was set up about a week earlier, and – according to the statement put out by Barak’s office – was coordinated both with Netanyahu and the US.”

The Permanent Secretary of Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Ministry has denied this report. Palestinians have endured over 40 years of the most brutal occupation, including 18 years of useless negotiations- a theatrical exhibition organized by the U S to provide excuse for Israel to intensify and consolidate illegal settlement expansion activities. Palestinians have carried out peaceful protests to shake off a long running oppression and acts of racism. Thousands of their sons and daughters are in Israeli jails for no other reason than their refusal to be slaves in their own homeland. The people of Gaza, still living under siege, have become guinea pigs for Israel to field-test and eventually market new horrific weapons specifically designed for powerless urban populations, such as white phosphorous bombs, and remote controlled predator drones which it used purposely to target children playing on roofs. During Israel’s Operation Cast Lead in December 2008 , U.S-supplied F-16s rained hellfire on a trapped people and ethnic cleansing became full scale genocide. On October 4, 2006 , 135 former presidents, prime ministers, foreign and defense ministers, congressional leaders and heads of international organizations issued a joint call for urgent international action to end Palestinian misery. In their statement, they declared that the conflict must end in order to assure “security and full recognition to the state of Israel within internationally recognized borders, and end to the occupation for the Palestinian people in a viable independent, sovereign state, and the return of lost land”. The World Conference against Racism (WCAR), an international event organized by UNESCO, in the edition held in Durban (31 Aug-18 Sept 2001 ) themed “World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance”, declared Israeli’s state policy of Zionism and treatment of the Palestinians as racism. It was at this event that Nigeria led other nations to demand for apologies (from countries responsible for slavery, recognition of it as a crime against humanity) and for reparations. These are some of the facts that Nigeria must remember at this crucial time that God has placed it in a position to set a whole nation free from tyranny and oppression. These are the important things to remember when taking decisions on the crucial vote at the Security Council. The United States and Israel know they are playing a losing game. They have placed themselves on the wrong side of justice and have refused to take important lesions in history. Majority of world nations support the Palestinian right to statehood. It is in our national interest to stand for justice at this junction in history. Nigeria now has an important opportunity to make its voice heard through its vote at the UNSC and make a difference. Let us change the world together and grant to the Palestinians, Christians and Muslims, the promise we all need as human beings: The promise of dignity.

Airline Operation in Nigeria - Delayed Flights

Alright, I do not claim to be a frequent air traveler and neither have I travelled out of the shores of the country.  But on behalf of the frequent air travelers of our nation, I voice out.

Is it fair? Every time I get to the airport on time to catch a flight, the airline *intentionally* delay the flight for at least 45 MINUTES! Sometimes, it could be worse; I have been delayed for as long as 1HOUR 30 MINUTES–3HOURS for a 45MINUTES (approximately) flight to Lagos or Abuja. Really, if it would take an airline approximately 5HOURS to commute to Abuja/Lagos, I wouldn’t mind settling for a EKENEDILICHUKWU which commutes for like 8HOURS and are always Just-In-Time.

There are also times, when I get to the airport late- due to no fault of mine, but because of traffic- that I miss the flight. WHAT? And I am just about 5-10 MINUTES late! The airlines are always so pleased to inform that you have missed your flight and are more than eager to refer you to their booking/ticketing section where you pay almost the same amount to reschedule your flight. Seriously, if the airlines don’t respect their scheduled flight time, why should I?

No doubt, the most frequent air travelers are business men, who have time-critical appointment to keep, time-sensitive clients to meet and hectic schedules that demands being on time. Our airlines don’t seem to understand that, it is much more than comfort that make travelers board an airplane to their destination. Some just want to be in time. Of course, time is money. Seems most of our airline staff need to attend a class in time management to appreciate being on time just like this business man do.

I know something Samsom Siasia doesn't know

Everyone just realized there is something wrong with football administration in Nigeria. The players played lazily and truly we deserved the result we got. Sir Alex Fergusen is never blamed for Manchester United woes; instead it’s his players that are to be blamed. Wenger is always to be blamed because he is stingy and won’t buy quality players. Abrahamovic is always to be blamed because he is never patient enough with the managers.

Who do we blame for the woes of Nigerian football? I used to think Samson Siasia coaches to make our players play entertaining football. I did not see that in their performance on Saturday against Guinea. He used to be successful but I did not see any brilliance within the ranks.

I have just one advice for him; if he should be retained as the national team coach, he should settle for players without a name because he is more successful with such players. If Siasia ends up reading this, I want a ‘thank you’ from him. Now I am a football coach….lolz

If you pay some amount of money into my account and you answer some questions I ask about your relationship, I can tell if your relationship will last or not. Some will say it’s not possible. It’s actually possible, but I won’t tell you if the relationship is meant to be or not if you can’t see that yourself.

It’s easy for outsiders to predict if a relationship is heading for the rocks or not. I have always advice people to take a look at their relationship as an outsider; this will give them a good evaluation of what they are really into. A guy or lady forcing himself on another will one day get heartbroken.

In as much as we should be tolerant, there is no reason hanging on to a person who possesses traits we can’t cope with. Hoping to change a person won’t ever work. They will remain who they are, or will only change for just a short time.

There are a few people out of relationship. Some are very desperate for one. The key is to be calm about it because lots of guys out there will do anything to get between pretty ladies legs. It’s funny that some ladies too are out to massacre guys too.

Tolerance; never seek for perfection because it doesn’t exist; forget that dream tall handsome guy in your dreams; be down to earth; money isn’t everything; you can never hold him or her down with sex no matter how powerful; expect little and give what you can; be concerned with every aspect of your partners life; never be too busy; and most importantly, hold on to your ideals

A change is going to come...

For how long do we have to wait to enjoy the basics of life? For how long do the poor have to pay for the inept of the rich? For how long do we have to make the sacrifice?

Government for the umpteenth time plans to remove the subsidy on petroleum, products. Since the 1970s when the pump price of petrol was as low as 8kobo, Government have been removing subsidy and till now we have nothing to show for it. For every time there has always been a promise of providing palliative measures which we never see. The subsidy being removed is promised to be used to provide more infrastructures. We never see that too.

Any economist or elite who supports the fuel subsidy reduction is either benefiting from it; will not be adversely affected; or is totally ignorant of what people go through.

The government must be WICKED or ignorant of the repercussion of this impending action. The N18,000 minimum wage is still being argued upon after several years. The said minimum wage is only for the public sector workers. So what happens to the private sector workers? What happens to the unemployed who are even more?

People around the world are now standing to challenge government. From the Arab springs to the European nations and even the United States, it is obvious there is going to be a class war. The elites, the politicians will be on one hand and the suffering masses on the other. Any other class of people who feels the government is on the right path is definitely against the masses.

It’s time we stopped listening to big grammar and go back to the days of stones, bottles and destroying the elite’s property. I know for sure, if the average politicians who benefits from impoverishing us is targeted then they will know we mean business. I’m sorry if this incites violence, but we need more than that to get what we want because our pleas and arguments are not heard.

This is a name so many haven't heard not to mention the personality behind the name.
How come everyone is saying something about this man. Is it because we all love to be part of his success. If this were as it is the reason, it would have been a little understandable. Some people just say something, anything or just type his name re-christened  just to pass a message to friends that they are in touch with happenings. Mscheew.
